The Aura
The following descriptions of the human aura is a simplified model that describes the function of the aura quite well. In reality the levels of the aura are more complicated and their functions more overlapping. The models are made to clarify how the aura works and to help develop a sensitivity to perceiving the energy fields. When your sensitivity develops and you start to perceive the energy fields, you can experience them yourself and the model becomes unnecessary.
The life line runs up and down through your body. It runs through your spine and extends into the earth and sky. The 7 layers of the aura begin from the life line and extend outside the physical body. All these layers have a function of their own. The layers of the aura are numbered from the physical into the most spiritual. The layers of the aura are 1. the etheric body (etheric being between physical and spiritual), 2. the emotional body, 3. the mental/rational body, 4. the astral body, 5. the layer of higher will, 6. the layer of unconditional love and 7. the layer of connecting and fusing to the universe. The energy centers (also called chakras) are situated in the aura. The function of the chakras is to exchange energy with the energy field surrounding us and to connect our aura and the physical body into the deeper energy levels eg. life line and soul level. The chakras also have their physical functions - each chakra takes care of a certain area of the body by channeling energy into it. A person's spiritual state is reflected into the physical body through the chakras. This is why certain kinds of spiritual hardships cause certain kinds of illnesses or problems in certain areas of the body.
Each one of the levels has it's own function. When the energy in a layer is blocked or distorted, the same change happens in the layers below it. When the energy block reaches the first level of the aura the person becomes susceptible for different illnesses or problems. An injury may sometimes cause problems to the higher auric levels as it causes a subconscious fear that the person would be injured again. The injury and fear of injury then cause a thinking-, behaviour- and emotional pattern that attracts similar events to strengthen the energy of the injury even further.
Often the problems are caused in the emotional level. A problem in the emotional layer(2nd layer) reflects as a problem in the mental and the astral layers (3rd and 4th layers). This can be caused by a feeling that triggers some thoughts. The thoughts then cause a thinking pattern that affects permanently how a person feels towards other people. Then a 4th level block has been caused. A problem in the energy field will disrupt the oneness ie. being one with the universe. When you are in oneness you are one with all the souls and energies. When the oneness is disrupted as described earlier the following will happen: How I feel about myself will reflect onto how I feel about others. "I together in balance with everyone" becomes "I separated from others" or "I in inbalance with others". This kind of inbalance in the 2nd level of aura is passed on to the first level of the aura and to the physical body. This happens because for most people it is easier to feel even hard physical pains and discomforts than face the spiritual problems behind the pains.
Sometimes an experience in the physical body (eg. pain) can cause a problem in the first level of the aura. If being injured is associated with a feeling of hate towards oneself or another, the physical problem may escalate to the higher levels of the aura aswell.
The 7 layers of the aura consist of energy of different density. The layers interpenetrate and surround eachother. The layers reach out from within the body outside the physical body. The higher layers extend farther out than the lower. The first layer extends about 2-3 centimeres (1 inch) out from the body. Each subsequent layer extends 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) further out than the previous. These measurements are not exact as auras differ quite a lot in different situations but at a normal state these apply.
The first 3 layers of the aura are the basis for physical life. The first layer creates a model for the physical body with internal organs, viscera and all. By observing the first layer one can see existing or future problems in the body. By healing this layer it is possible to gain very fast changes in the physical body. The results wil however usually not last as the root of the problem is usually in the higher levels of the aura and the physical level is only bringing it into our consciousness. The second layer is the emotional layer and it reflects how we feel about ourself and partly about others. In this layer we can find those parts of the emotional life that affect the person's well-being at the given time. By healing the second level of the aura one can step a bit closer to the root problems causing the problems. This way you can get a bit more lasting results but most of the second level distortions come from higher levels of the aura. The third level represents rational thinking. When the third layer is working well, we reason very well. It represents our mind through wich the feelings can be comprehended. The need to conceptualize emotions creates a pattern of thinking that will be triggered every time that we encounter a similar situation. This is why it is very important to clear oneself of all the patterns that are unbeneficial for our well-being.
The fourth level of the aura is the astral layer. It connects the physical (1-3) layers with the spiritual (5-7) layers. The fourth level of the aura reflects emotions towards other people and is strongly connected to the second layer as feelings and emotions about oneself are partly reflections on the feelings that we have for others and vice-versa. We also react to how others feel about is in this level.
The layers 5-7 of the aura represent the spiritual manifestations of the layers 1-3. The fifth layer of the aura contains the blueprint for the first layer. It is a model for the physical body. The fifth layer is the layer of universal will - representing how the individual soul's will correlates to the will of the spiritual oneness. Another way of expressing this is that when the will and needs of a person come together with the reality - the fifth level of the aura is bright and solid. This means that physical well-being can only be achieved when the person's own will and needs are in accordance with the reality. This requires an ability to channel universal energy from the soul-level into the physical reality to create or mold one's own reality into such that it meets one's needs for well-being. Many times we confuse our true needs and desires with those that are coming from the outside. When this happens manifestation will not happen as the soul energies cannot be channeled this way. So achieving physical well-being requires complete honesty towards oneself in all aspects of life.
The sixth layer of the aura represents universal love. It contains the spiritual model of our world filled with total acceptance and unconditional love. It is the model from which the second layer of the aura is created. Like the fifth layer, the sixth layer is also bright and working well when one can manifest into his own reality the emotions and connections to people that are beneficial for one's well-being.
The seventh layer of the aura combines the spiritual and physical model and the physical model of our world. This creates an experience of how one is connected to the spiritual oneness. It is the layer of the universal mind and thus the model layer for the third layer of the aura. This is the layer through which a person is able to manifest his/her own reality. This means that the person's intention becomes a part of both the physical reality and oneness.
If the energy becomes blocked it always strives to manifest itself in the lower levels of the aura. If a memory of an event in your life causes a feeling of being better than others you will automatically also feel separate from others. This creates a separation from the oneness and a block in the energy flow in the seventh level of the aura. This energy block will then manifest itself in the sixth level by being unable to feel unconditional love. It may become a love to feeling better than others. In the fifth level the problem will create a thought that everyone(or a part of people) is against you. The fourth level reflects the same energy block as making problems in creating relationships or commiting to relationships. In the third level the block creates a thought pattern: Everyone will abandon or reject me. The same block in the energy flow in the second level creates a feeling that I am not accepted as myself - that I somehow have to please others. In the first layer the block creares a feeling of uneasiness that will eventually manifest as an injury or illness. Should the physical problem be treated from any energy level lower than the seventh, it will not go away. It might change form but it will come back untill the fear of being separate is treated and let go.
To remove a chronical illness or injury, all the layers of the aura, the energy centers, physical level, life-line and soul-level should be treated.
One chakra/energy center is principally in charge of each of the layers of the aura. The first level of the aura is governed by the first chakra, the second level by the second chakra etc. When describing the colours of the chakras, they are mostly described as how they look in the second level of the aura.
